Renascence held on to record a debut victory at Racing.com Park (Pakenham) last night to kick off what was the first of a double for Epsom Lodge.

The Lucas Cranach gelding was well ridden by Rhys McLeod who made good use of his inside draw to hold a forward position and withstood all challenges in the straight to get across the line.

This is the fourth progeny of Desert Sun mare, Eliza Dream, to win for Epsom Lodge.

Eliza Dream, herself a winner at Sandown, has been a marvelous broodmare for connections and she is the dam of Shakespearean Lass (stakes winner), Dan Zephyr (multiple metropolitan winner), El Magnificence (course record holder at Sale) and does it again with Renascence last night.

Congratulations to the connections, Colin Purss and partners, who bred the horse and collect the Super VOBIS bonus as well. Many thanks to all the staff at Epsom Lodge for their good work in presenting Renascence in fine order for his win last night.
