Well done to all on the strong win of Khartoum (Helenus/Katsumi) in the Jayco Bendigo Cup November 1 maiden at Bendigo on 28th September.  Rated beautifully by Rhys McLeod, Khartoum took a sit in behind the leaders in the early stage before working his way to the front, winning by 3.5 lengths on the line – and pulling away.

This is another feather in the cap of the Wyadup Valley Farms operation, headed by Trevor Delroy, and another winner for the stallion Helenus who – from limited opportunities – has produced many good staying types including Gr 1 winners CEDARBERG, ETHIOPIA, GONDOKORO,  as well as several other stakes and metropolitan winners.

Khartoum is a promising type and it looks like the further they go the better he will like it.  Many thanks to all of the dedicated team at Epsom Lodge, and also to Poppa Meagher who came in off the bench to give us a hand on the day.
