Congratulations to Shelley Hancox and all at Hancox Bloodstock on the gutsy win of Havana Haymaker at Cranbourne on 29th December. The big horse gave us all a start – standing in the gates and missing the kick by 6 lengths – but Beau Mertens kept his cool and kept Havana Haymaker rolling along on the heavy track, scoring a grinding win by half a length.
Well done to all the team at Epsom Lodge including riders, ground staff, vets, and farriers especially Deryn, our equine muscular therapist, who has a share in the horse.
