It was great to have another winner in the royal blue with gold trident colours for Steve Watkins, owner and breeder of Crestani, (Nicconi/Cresta Condor) winner of the Douglas Wong Plate over 1000m at Mornington on 27th August 2020. Crestani’s dam Cresta Condor was one of the first horses Pat trained for Steve, and this is her first foal- winner of his first start! Ridden a treat by our former stable apprentice Jack Martin, Crestani worked his way through from 6th at the turn to win by a short half-head, and looks to have a promising future ahead of him.
It takes a lot of time and patience to bring a horse to its’ raceday best, and we appreciate the skill and dedication of our staff, vets, and farriers.
