Zagaya (I am Invincible – Tokaleya) broke the drought yesterday at Kilmore with a very nice win in the Be Races Ready maiden plate over 1100m.

With the benefit of a strategic gear-change and in the expert hands of Rhys McLeod, Zagaya scored a convincing win against a couple of  other highly fancied runners. As commentators observed, it was a great training performance from Pat, bringing the horse back from 1400 to 1100m.

Congratulations to Trevor Delroy of Wyadup Valley Farms, owner and breeder of Zagaya.  Trevor's pasion is breeding and racing stayers, and he has made a lifelong study of pedigrees and performance.  Zagaya is by a son of Invincible Spirit, and his dam is a daughter of the brilliant Encosta De Lago, from the family of outstanding race mare Canny Lass.

Well done and thank-you to Woodsy and the entire Epsom Lodge team.  Cath, Kathy, Kate and Katy K, Adam, Chantelle, Daniel, Donna, Geoff, Jake, Louisa and Louise, Maddie, Nat, Roger, Shaun and Simmo – we appreciate your skills and dedication to the horses in our care.
