We had a very successful day at the VOBIS Gold yearling sales on Sunday 23rd April, purchasing 4 nice fillies for the Epsom Lodge team. All of them are already entered for Super VOBIS, and are eligible to nominate for VOBIS Gold.  We have also entered them all for the $5million Inglis Race Series.  This means that they can race for bonus prize money in VOBIS races and in specific races (including stakes races) restricted to Inglis sales graduates.  We also make sure that all of our horses are covered with 12 months insurance from fall of hammer.

The first was Lot 55 a bay filly by Argentinian stallion HUSSON, sire of LUCKY HUSSLER, winner of the William Reid Stks Gr 1, the first foal of Orphan, a Tiger Hill mare  who was herself unraced but is from a prolific winning family.

The next to catch our eye was Lot 84 by TURFFONTEIN (also winner of the William Reid Stakes Gr. 1) out of multiple city winner Romalpa, dam of 4 winners so far.

We were also the successful bidders for Lot 132 a chestnut filly by first season sire WAR, closely related to the champion mare MORE JOYOUS, out of White Countess, who has had one foal to race for 3 wins (1 at Moonee Valley).

To top the day off we acquired Lot 150 a KUROSHIO filly out of Annie’s Diamond – we have previously trained 2 of her daughters – for long-time client John Sweeney and his partners.  KUROSHIO was a stakes winner at 2, and this is his first crop of yearlings.

Keep an eye on our Horses Available page as we will post updates about these fillies, including videos taken at the sales, some comments from Pat and more information about their breeding.

If you are interested in any of them Pat or Cheryl would be pleased to hear from you and can answer any questions that you may have.  Pat’s mobile number is 0418 995 475 and Cheryl’s is 0418 587 101.
