Perfectly Stunning was perfectly placed by trainer Pat Carey to win the 1300m Fillies and Mares race at Betfair Park today. She was well ridden by Craig Newitt, who ensure that she jumped away fairly and settled back in the field, before working home determinedly to win by half a length.

This is her second start and second win at Sandown this preparation, and her third win from eleven starts.  She races in the colours of the famed Vinery Stud, where her grand-sire More Than Ready stands.   She is a striking looking mare, and Pat and his team had her in absolutely top order today.

Her win was the second of the day for Pat, after the exciting win of 2YO Donna Madeira in the Swettenham Stud Dash for Cash.  Helenus gelding Durnford went close to making it a treble, coming second by less than half a length in the last race of the day.  With a bit of  luck in the running he could well have gone one better.  He is quickly finding his niche, having won his maiden at his last start, and looks to be an improving type.

This makes it three wins and three seconds at Betfair Park in the past fortnight, and pushes Pat into 15th place on the Metropolitan Trainer's Premiership table.  Congratulations and well done to all concerned!
