PATRICK CAREY, Trainer (aka -The Oracle)

Patrick Carey is very much a “hands on trainer” which ensures that clients are included and an integral part of the training program of their horses.  Pat is well respected within the Industry and amongst owners and peers.   Pat attends Industry meetings and is an integral part of the Australian Trainers Association.
 

CHERYL CAREY, Co-Pilot

Cheryl has been in the racing industry for the majority of her life and plays a key role in the operation of their business including general office manager, which incorporates accounts, staff and owner communications. Cheryl also assists her husband in race day procedures, attends  most "Sales" with Pat and enjoys the challenge of casting  her eye over prospective yearlings .. 

DR. RICK SELTH, Stable Vet

Dr Rick Selth has been Pats stable Vet for approximately 20 years. Rick heads the Practice of  "Epsom Veterinary Centre" and is a valued and respected member among his collegues. Rick attends the stable every day as a matter of routine and is always accessable should the need arise.

LEIGH MACDONALD, Stable Farrier

Leigh is a valued member of our team, he has been with us at Mornington since 2004. Whilst he works as an independant Farrier he visits our stable to monitor our horses on a daily basis. You will quite often see Leigh at the races as a back up should there be any foot related issues with our horses. 

SIMON WELLS, Head Foreman

Simon is Pat's Head Foreman . Simon came to us with excellent management skills, representing Pat and taking over the reins when he is Interstate or at "Sales Venues". Just as importantly you are more likely to see him whilst representing Pat at the races. Simon has been with us for approximately 3 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Mark Henson - (Son) Join the team at PG Carey Racing in 2004, working his way to Foreman status and travels interstate when required . Since his arrival he has been an enormous contributor to preparing our horses and achieving our Race Day Results.

Carly Thomas - Has been with PG Carey Racing since 2004, and is also a major part of our team. Carly is a Foreman and our leading track work rider and is able to give an accurate assessment keeping information and potential ability in house.

Adam, Johnny and Shelly - Are all valued staff members and play a major roll in the responsibility of day to day care and race day preparation and achievments.

Part Time staff Members - All of whom are valued long term employee's include Mandy Henson (Daughter) Shaun Henson (Son) Paul and David Meagher (Cheryl's Brothers) Danielle Smith, and very importantly Robyn Pay who comes in on a daily basis to do any specialised veterinary work should the need arise.
