P G Carey Racing Stables(Pat and Cheryl) has an excellent team of staff and support/specialists, all of whom contribute to making Epsom Lodge a unique training facility.
All of our staff show personal dedication, loyalty and pride, some of whom were born into the industry. We are very fortunate that a few of our staff have been with us since our move to Mornington, around 12 years ago. Most have many years of industry experience, a couple are keen new recruits, but they all play a very important role in the care and development of each and every horse.
We value and appreciate their skill, their love of the horse and particularly the hard work they do each and every day without question.
Employment Opportunities exist with P G Carey Racing Stables and we welcome you to come and join in our success.
We have opportunities for senior staff members at our Mornington training establishment with excellent conditions on offer.

Trainer (aka -The Oracle)
Patrick Carey is very much a “hands on trainer”,which ensures that clients are included and an integral part of the training program of their horses. Pat is well respected within the Industry and amongst owners and peers. Pat attends Industry meetings and is an integral part of the Australian Trainers Association.
Cheryl was born into the Racing Industry being the daughter of Trainer Jack Meagher and sister of John Meagher and is currently Racing Manager for husband Pat. She is General Office Manager of accounts and handles the staff and owner communications. She co ordinates raceday procedures and attends the races on most occasions. Cheryl attends the Yearling Sales and particularly enjoys the challenge of casting her eagle eye over prospective yearlings with Pat.
DR. RICK SELTH
Dr Rick Selth has been Pats stable Vet for approximately 20 years. Rick heads the Practice of "Epsom Veterinary Centre" and is a valued and respected member among his collegues. Rick attends the stable every day as a matter of routine and is always accessable should the need arise.
Leigh is a valued member of our team, he has been with us at Mornington since 2004. Whilst he works as an independant Farrier he visits our stable to monitor our horses on a daily basis. You will quite often see Leigh at the races as a back up should there be any foot related issues with our horses.
Mark joined our team in 2004 and has made the transition from head stablehand and traveling foreman to Head Foreman He has made the change with confidence and dedication and has been an enormous contributer in preparing our horses to achieve raceday results. Mark is my stepson and whilst he layed parquetry flooring by trade he has always been involved in the industry in some way. Football injuries played a part in his decision to change his occupation, and we were pleased when Mark accepted the role as P G Carey Racing's Head Foreman. He assists the "Team" in all aspects and takes charge of the team when Pat is away at Yearling Sales or racing interstate.
