Update on 2018 yearlings

Jul 30, 2019

The yearlings that we purchased in 2018 at the Karaka Premier sales, the Sydney Easter sales and VOBIS Gold sale are all either established or well on the path to their racing careers.  With the new racing season about to start, here is an update on the Class of 2018:

Iffraaj/Crystalina filly, purchased at Karaka Premier sale.  This girl is in the final stages of preparation for her first racing campaign, she had a very impressive trial on 10th July where she was first past the post with a bit in hand.  She is a tall scopey filly and we have always looked at her as a 3YO prospect, so she has not been rushed in her education.

Smart Missile/Kennilworth filly - now named Annie's Missile. A thrilling debut at Flemington down the straight in February has marked this promising filly as one to watch in the spring.  We tipped her out straight after the race to let her grow and consolidate her learnings, and she is now back in work fresh and full of energy.

Artie Schiller/Luloah filly purchased in Sydney is progressing in her education, getting ready for another jumpout in the next couple of weeks.  She too has not been rushed, as Pat believes in "tightening the screws slowly" with his young horses.

Fighting Sun/Demandehere gelding; is a graduate of the VOBIS Gold sale where Pat has found a number of handy horses over the years. He showed that he has started to put it all together in his jumpout at Pakenham on 24th July where he was sent out to have a good educational trial without being pushed, and finished up being first past the post.   We are delighted that he is progressing so well at this early stage.

From time to time we  have opportunities to join in the ownership of our 2 and 3 year old racehorses.   If you are interested in racing a horse with us, we would be pleased to discuss the ownership opportunities that are available.  Please give Pat a call on 0418 995 475 or Cheryl on 5976 3137 if you have any questions or to register your interest in one of these horses, or one of our 2019 racehorses of the future - fillies  by Glass Harmonium and Trust in a Gust.
