Epsom Lodge supports Off The Track

Aug 28, 2017

Retired racehorses make great equine athletes and none more so than "Gobby" seen here competing at the Friends of Werribee horse trials over the weekend.  Gobby raced for us as Point de Virage, for a win and 3 placings, and retired in 2015.  He has re-trained as an eventer and had his first outing for Liz Carey and Leah Rodwell at Werribee.

We take great satisfaction in seeing our horses progress in their new lives following their retirement from racing.  We wish Leah all the best with Point de Virage and also with Oblivious who she has recently acquired off the track.

Other horses that have made a succesful transitions to eventing are Thong Classic - winner of the Moonee Valley Cup, and Ulundi - winner of the Lord stakes.   There is also Zast - famous for his win at Werribee in a track record time paying $136  - who went on to win Reserve  Champion Hack at the Berwick Show a number of years ago.
