A solid foundation and introduction to a "Career As A Racehorse"

Jul 03, 2014

Our yearling fillies are starting off their education over winter, and are currently in the safe hands of Mark Thomas at Seymour.  Pat believes that the breaking-in stage is critical to the future of a horse, and he entrusts his yearlings to expert horsemen such as Mark, and also the Garraway's in Somerville to ensure that they get off to a good start.

This year the Garraway Team have broken in our Magic Albert/Pekalan colt and our Written Tycoon/Lady Rohlon colt. They have both finished their breaking in program and are now spelling.

Mark is currently putting the finishing touches on our Equiano/Anna Dana filly and the Super Saver/Pleats filly. Both of these fillies have graduated to being ridden under  saddle on Mark's home track, and are doing very well.  Next week they will be introduced to the stable routine at Epsom Lodge where they will spend a couple of weeks going to the track with the older horses and will also be introduced to the barriers at Mornington racetrack.

Mark is very  pleased with the way both of these fillies have handled their breaking in program and we look forward to them arriving at our "Epsom Lodge" stable complex to put the finishing touches to this preparation.

The Lonhro/Hela Dubai filly and the Kaphero/Frustrations filly are the next to be broken in.  They have just gone up to Mark's, and he will give them a sound education and a great introduction to their life as a Racehorse.
