Cresta Condor (Stratum – La Bird) had her first start for us yesterday at Mornington, and kicked off in the best possible way with a win in the Orbit Fitness Handicap
Young apprentice Ben Thompson was the pilot, and he gave her a well-judged ride, finding a path through the small field to hit the line strongly and win by about a length.
Cresta Condor is owned by Steve Watkins, and it was great that he was at Mornington to see her win today. Steve himself trained with great success from Mornington, most memorably winning the 1986 Caulfield Guineas with Abaridy.
Cresta Condor has a good record, with 3 wins, 1 second and 1 third from 10 starts. We are all delighted with her win today, and hopefully we can all enjoy many more fun times with her in the future.
