Day 3 of the Melbourne Premier sale, and we have just become the successful bidders on a quality filly by NOT A SINGLE DOUBT out of an ENCOSTA DE LAGO mare, and a cracking colt by first season sire FIORENTE .
The filly is half-sister to CHAMP ELECT, winner of 2 races from 3 starts and still only a 2 year old. NOT A SINGLE DOUBT was the leading sire of winners in the 2015-16 season, and is on track for another highly successful year, represented by DON’T DOUBT MAMA and 2016 Blue Diamond and Moir Stakes winner EXTREME CHOICE (third in last weekend’s Oakleigh Plate).
The FIORENTE colt is out of a winning mare by TIGER HILL, which means that he is bred on the same cross as ALAMANDIN winner of last year’s Melbourne Cup. He has all the attributes of a stayer, with a nice long rein, good depth of girth and a strong walk.
