Eye-catching filly Blue Eyes is a favourite of all at Epsom Lodge, and is something of a darling at the Mornington training centre.  Today she was very popular at Kilmore too, winning race 4 – the Gowanbrae Retirement Village handicap for fillies and mares.

Blue Eyes pictured with Cheryl Carey at our Ladies of the Turf tea party.  She is having a massage treatment from Deryn Rowe of Strides Ahead.

Resuming today after a short let-up Rhys McLeod allowed this filly to get settled at the rear of the field before making his move at the turn to round them up and scampered to the front, holding off a couple of late challengers and toughed it out to the line.

Blue Eyes (Helenus – Shona) is a full-sister to our Gr1 winner Ethiopia, and is also raced by Trevor and Terrie Delroy on their amazing property Wyadup Valley Farm,  Congratulations to both Trevor and Terrie who have been so patient with this beautiful "baby blue" tough little mare.

This is her first win and is a reward for your patience, and hopefully thee are many more to come.
