Wonderful Journey has been one of the unluckiest horses in the Epsom Lodge stables. After 9 starts he had 3 seconds and 4 thirds to his name – most of which were by less than a length. At his tenth start at Bendigo on 2nd April he finally broke through and scored his first win – by 0.1 of a length! Well done to jockey Nick Hall who rode him with strength and vigour to get him over the line.
A win is a win, no matter how slim the margin, and we are all delighted for the connections, especially forHawkesy. This horse has always shown plenty of promise, and we hope that his owners will go on to enjoy a Wonderful Journey with much success in his racing career.
Well done to Paul who represented us whilst we were in Sydney. Let's hope the Luck of the Irish holds for the stable on the weekend, particularly for Paul who is riding at the iconic Oakbank meeting over the weekend.
