Jack Martin scored a very popular win at Sandown today on Taylah’s Secret, his first winning ride for his master Pat Carey, and a welcome return to the winner’s circle for Taylah.

This was her second win at Sandown, and her fourth overall from 23 starts but it is one that will be long remembered.  Jack took her to the front from the get-go and rated her beautifully, surviving a late charge home from Brad Rawiller on La Consolidata on the outside who looked to have just pipped Taylah at the post.  It took over 5 minutes for the judge to award the race to Taylah, and it was not until Brad Rawiller saw the developed print of the finish that he conceded that his horse had run second.

The developed print showing Taylah’s Secret winning by the width of a bee’s sting.

Congratulations to all owners who have been patient with Taylah in recent times, and to the mighty crew at Epsom Lodge who work hard to ensure each horse is at their very best for raceday.  Thanks team!
