Florida Keys kicked off her new racing preparation in fine style at Sale on Sunday 22nd January with a strong win in the NuTurf Fillies and Mares BM64 over 1200m.  A polished and skillful ride from Jack Martin saw her weave her way through the field in the straight, then kick away a furlong from home to score a win by a length and a half.

We have been in no rush to get the daughter of Sebring to the races, and she now has 2 wins and a second place from only 6 starts.  Her win yesterday showed that she has plenty of upside, and connections can look forward to having fun with her in future.

Congratulations to all owners, and to the riders, ground staff, vets and farriers who look after Florida Keys and all of our other horses. Their personalised attention and dedication helps us to bring out the best in each individual horse, and we thank them for their tireless efforts.

It was a positive day out at Sale, with all 5 horses turning in pleasing performances, but Florida Keys’ win provided some welcome compensation after Captain Rhett’s unlucky and narrow second in the first race – beaten by an eyelash in a head-bobbing finish.
