Lightly raced gelding Docking scored his first Metropolitan win today with a gritty victory at Sportingbet Park.  Wearing blinkers for the first time and ridden with poise and determination by stable apprentice Aaron Mitchell, Docking overcame his wide gate and made a sustained and powerful run through the line to record a nice win in a field of up-and-comers.

This is the first metropolitan winner Pat has trained for Docking's owner and breeder Michael Carlile, who also bred Docking's dam Spoilt for Choice (Redoute's Choice).  In his first starts Docking showed that he had some potential, but he needed to mature both mentally and physically  to produce his best and we are pleased he has done this today for all concerned. On a better track this time, and with the addition of blinkers to sharpen his focus, it was great to see him put it all together.

Congratulations to Michael Carlile and to the team at Epsom Lodge, who support and help us to make sure that every horse in the stable has every chance to achieve their full potential.
