We had 2 winners in 2 days over the past weekend, no doubt due to a bit of divine intervention from Pat’s mother Margie Carey who passed away aged 91 last week. Margie was the proud mother of 9 children, and along with all of the Carey clan she loved to follow Pat’s career and delight in his successes.  We are sure that she had a hand in the Tigers winning the Grand Final as well as getting Think He Mei and Music of the Night over the line for us this was extra special because there are plenty of Careys in the ownership of Music of the Night.

Think He Mei, (So You Think/Mei Lin Mao) raced by Clanbrook and Sharing Winners won the bet365 Top Tote Plus maiden at Yarra Valley on Saturday at his ninth start. Under strong riding from Patrick Moloney, Think He Mei ploughed through the wet conditions, and battled out a close finish to win by a lip.

The following day  Music of the Night scored her fourth career win from 42 starts, winning of the WorkforceXS BM64 Handicap at Sale.  Patrick Maloney again did the honours, and with Music of the Night a fit horse at her pet distance she was untroubled by the wet track to go on and win by a length.

Congratulations to all the lucky owners in both horses, and many thanks to our Epsom Lodge team.  Thanks for the helping hand Margie!
