Stable favourite Dan Zephyr turned in a typical tough performance at Ararat on Sunday 6th November to win the Programmed China Bowl Hcp over 1300m.   Favourite son Rhys McLeod timed his run to absolute perfection, and Dan showed that he has still got all of his legendary spirit and determination to win by a flared nostril in a driving finish.

Congratulations to Colin Purss and his fellow owners who bred the six year old son of Danbird, and his stakes-winning half-sister Shakespearean Lass (by Written Tycoon).  Colin and partners also a couple of young half-brothers in the pipeline, a 2 year old named El Magnificence (by Magnus) and a yearling by Lucas Cranach.  With his career record now showing 7 wins, 3 seconds and 3 thirds from 24 starts, Dan has given his little brothers very big shoes to fill when their time comes at the racetrack!

Winners are grinners!  Cheryl, Pat, Rhys and some of the happy owners of Dan Zephyr, winner of the Programmed China Bowl at Ararat 6th November, 2016.
