Clanbrooke and Careys are a great combination, with a successful association going back many years, including a Group 1 win with Arapaho Miss. Today it was the turn of Purrpussful (Purrealist – Newstar Lass) to carry the Royal Blue and Gold to victory, in the Mornington Car and Tyre Services Plate for 2 year olds.
Purrpussful is only as big as a minute, but she is a flashy little ball of muscle and determination. Patrick Moloney had her positioned perfectly in the race, sitting second after jumping away well before going on to win by 2 lengths without being pressured. This is only her second start, and it looks like there could be a lot more fun in store for her owners.
Congratulations to all owners including Janet, Kathy, Bruce, Anthony, Barry, Paul, Vicky, Bob, Dave, and Kevin along with Clanbrooke Racing No.2 syndicate managed by Dean, and Cowen and Mates syndicate managed by Robert.
It was also an exciting day for the connections of Abolish, our other runner in the race, finishing second to Purrpussful. We are very pleased with her effort, and hopefully she is not too far away from a win.
