It was a beautiful Melbourne morning for the 2012 Cox Plate Breakfast with the Best at Moonee Valley.

Pat's Cox Plate runner Ethiopia was among the horses who participated, with his jockey and partner Rhys McLeod aboard.  Ethiopia worked by himself, wearing blinkers, which will be added to his race gear for the first time on Saturday.

He was very switched on in his work, but was his normal relaxed self coming off the track.  His recovery was excelllent, showing how solidly fit he is, and how well Pat has him tuned for the race.

Owner Trevor Delroy came over from Perth Monday night to watch his champ at work, and to choose his starting gate at the Barrier Draw.

Ethiopia was the 7th horse out of the barrel at the barrier draw, and Trevor chose Barrier 6.   This is the ideal gate for Ethiopia, and gives him a great opportunity to bring home the silverware!
