I Maximus broke through for his maiden win at Kyneton today thanks to a masterful ride by jockey Yoko Ota.  She jumped him out cleanly and moved him across from his wide barrier to settle at the on the fence towards the rear of the field.

She moved him out in the straight, and urged him forward under hands and heels to finish 4 lengths clear of the second horse.

Trainer Pat Carey was delighted with the ride, and said

"This was a 12 out of 10 ride by Yoko, she really got the best out of the horse.  Everyone in the stable was cheering for her today. She has a great work ethic, and this win was a great reward for all of her hard toil at trackwork."
