We will have more than our fingers crossed when More Than Ameira steps out in Launceston at 4:05pm today, in the Listed Tasmanian Oaks over 2100m.
The beautifully named filly (More Than Ready – Afraah), has demonstrated that she is a true stayer, and Pat has given her a few tune-up starts this preparation. Her best form has been in races over 1700m, and today's distance should suit her down to the ground.
Best of luck to owners Susan Harris and Liz Carey who have flown over with Cheryl this morning to join Pat and cheer their filly on. They will make more than a racket if she is in contention coming up the straight, and there will certainly be more than a few bubblies tonight if she should win!
